2022 Hennies Award Winners Announced

NEWARK, Del. – The Delaware Athletics Department and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee held its annual Hennies Awards on Tuesday night at the Bob Carpenter Center.
In a night to remember, Blue Hen student-athletes mingled and joined together to celebrate the amazing year that the departments has had during the 2021-22 school year. Student-athletes showed up and cheered on their fellow teammates that walked away with the night's top honors.
The selected MC's for the night were SAAC member's Scott Sampson of men's soccer and Lizzie Gaebel of field hockey.
The major awards that were presented were: Most Outstanding Male Athlete, Most Outstanding Female Athlete, the Edgar Johnson and the Mary Ann Hitchens Award, and the Chuck Hall Strength & Conditioning Awards. Additional awards announced were Moment of the Year, Performance of the Year, 302 Award, community service and academic honors.
Members of the men's golf, men's and women's basketball, softball, and track & field programs took home the top honors.

Edgar Johnson Award: Dylan Painter, Men's Basketball
Mary Ann Hitchens Award: Susanna Weir, Track & Field
Chuck Hall Strength & Conditioning Awards: Dylan Painter, Men's Basketball; Sarah Bessel, Softball

Most Outstanding Male Student-Athlete
