The Delaware women’s golf team enjoyed another successful year during the 2021-22 campaign, the 10th anniversary of the program’s inaugural season. The Blue Hens posted top 10 finishes in all but one tournament, including five top-five results, and successfully defended their title at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate. UD opened the season in impressive fashion by finishing in second place at the PSU Nittany Lion Invitational. The Blue Hens’ 863 team score set a three-round program record, beating the previous mark by seven shots. Oihana Etxezarreta’s opening round 65 tied for the lowest round in UD history, while her 209 score is tied for the second lowest in program history.

Later in the fall, Delaware hosted the Lady Blue Hen Invitational at Rehoboth Beach Country Club following a year hiatus. The Blue Hens tied for fifth place at the tournament, before closing the fall slate with a third place result at the Mercer Invitational. The highlight of the spring season was winning the Kingsmill Intercollegiate for the second consecutive year, the program’s 10th ever tournament victory. Etxezarreta also earned medalist honors at the invitational for the second year in a row, posting a five-shot victory with a one under par 215.

Delaware concluded the year with a second place finish at the CAA Championship at St. James Plantation, the eighth straight year the Blue Hens placed among the top three at the conference tournament. Three Blue Hens finished among the top 10 individuals as Christina Carroll placed third, Lexi Dart was fifth and Lene Sperling tied for ninth. Carroll and Dart were both named to the CAA All-Tournament Team.

Delaware set a team program record by averaging 76.38 shots per round. Etxezarreta, who earned second team All-CAA honors for the second consecutive year, recorded a team-leading 75.13 stroke average.
