Men’s Tennis Welcomes Three More Newcomers to Roster

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware men's tennis has added three more new comers for the 2022-23 season in Daniel Krulig, Bernardo Teixeira, and William Wibmer, Director of Tennis Pablo Montana announced Wednesday. The trio joins the already announced Tobey Lock and Euan Mackenzie as the Blue Hens incoming class.
Daniel Krulig | Graduate Student | Miami, Fla. | Florida Virtual Full Time Academy | University of Denver
Krulig joins the Blue Hens after a four-year career at the University of Denver. During his time as a Pioneer, he posted a 56-46 singles record and 31-32 doubles record. The Miami, Fla. native was an All-Summit League selection in 2019 and an Academic All-League honoree in 2022.
The 5-9 graduate student was a two-time state champion in singles and doubles while attending Florida Virtual Full Time Academy. He garnered All-County Team recognition for singles his final three seasons and twice for doubles. At the conclusion of his senior year, Krulig was named to the All-American High School team.
Bernardo Teixeira | Graduate Student | Porto, Portugal | Escola Secundária Fontes Pereira de Mel | University of Porto
Teixeira graduated from the University of Porto in 2022 and comes to UD to pursue his master's degree in business administration. Prior to his time at Porto, he spent time at Escola Secundária Clara de Resende before graduating from Escola Secundária Fontes Pereira de Mel in 2019. Over the course of his career, Teixeira's squads claimed the University Teams Regional Championship in 2022, U18 Regional and Vice National Championships in 2019, and U16 Regional and Vice National Championships in 2017. Individually, the Porto, Portugal native reached the no. 8 spot in the Men's Portuguese Rankings.
William Wibmer | Graduate Student | Maldonado, Uruguay | St. Joseph Mary College | Sacred Heart
Wibmer heads to Newark after a four-year career at Sacred Heart University. He complied a 41-24 singles and 33-25 doubles record en route to eight different postseason honors in the NEC. The Maldonado, Uraguay native was a two-time NEC All-Conference First Team selection in singles, one-time NEC All-Conference Second Team nod in singles, three-time NEC All-Conference Second Team in doubles, an All-Rookie Team award, and an All-Tournament honor.
Wibmer graduated from Sacred Heart in 2022 with his bachelor's degree and will begin working on his master's in business administration at UD.
