Casey Kulina Named Delaware Baseball Pitching Coach

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware baseball head coach Greg Mamula has announced the addition of Casey Kulina to his staff as pitching coach.
Kulina joins the Blue Hens after spending the previous three years as pitching coach at Polk State College.
Kulina, a native of Hummelstown, Pa., Kulina enjoyed one of the most decorated seasons for a pitcher in the Polk State history in 2014 when he went 12-1, finishing one win shy of tying the school record for single season victories. He was named the FCSAA State Pitcher of the Year and received All-American accolades.
After graduating from Polk State in 2014, Kulina attended Jacksonville University, where he posted a 10-1 record in 20 starts over two seasons for the Dolphins.
While at JU he made the Dean's List and earned a spot on the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic Team. He received a bachelor of science degree in social science in 2016.
Kulina was signed by and pitched in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization in 2017. In 38 innings in Rookie League he posted a 3-1 record with three saves and a 2.37 ERA, issuing only eight walks while striking out 47 batters.
Kulina has also previously served as pitching coach for Hummelstown (Pa.) Legion Baseball, an instructor at Kulina Baseball Camp, and a scout and talent evaluator for Factory Athletics in Columbia, Md. Additionally, he has done data analysis for the San Francisco Giants and worked as a physical therapist technician.
"As a collegiate and professional pitcher, Casey was a winner," said Mamula. "He was known for his work ethic, toughness and competitiveness. Under Casey's leadership, these are the attributes that our pitchers at Delaware are going to pitch with. As a collegiate pitching coach, Casey has earned a reputation for his ability to develop and connect with his pitchers. We are excited for Casey to be joining our coaching staff and watching our pitchers grow under his leadership."
