Pair of Blue Hens Earn CAA All-Preseason Team Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – The Colonial Athletic Association on Thursday announced its 2022 Preseason All-CAA Team and Preseason Coaches Poll. The honors and poll were voted upon by the league's 12 head coaches.
University of Delaware senior forward Sara D'Appolonia has earned All-CAA Preseason Team honors as she heads into her final season with the Blue Hens. A native of Yarmouth, Maine, D'Appolonia started 12 of 12 matches in 2021 before being sidelined with an injury. She scored two game-winners and had 23 shots with 14 on goal during the season.
Sophomore midfielder Caitlin St. Leger earned honorable mention nods after a successful rookie campaign. The Bear, Del. native was a crucial part of the Delaware game plan as she started 17 of 18 games in 2021. She finished the season with two assists and 10 shots on goal.
In the coaches poll, the Blue Hens were picked to finish seventh in the standings.
