NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team will host UNCW on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium for a CAA matchup at 1:00 p.m.

Due to Delaware's football game against Hampton on Saturday at 6:00, there are two (2) parking options for spectators looking to attend the soccer game:Â

- Fans can park across the street in STAR campus. These lots can be accessed from 896 / South College Ave.Â
- Fans can park in the grass lot behind Bob Hannah Stadium. This lot can only be accessed by turning onto Sincock Lane from Route 4.Â

What You Need to Know:
- Delaware opened its season with a 2-0 win over Mount St. Mary's on Thursday, August 25, giving head coach Tommy McMenemy his first career victory. The Blue Hens also defeated George Washington on Sept. 13 behind two goals by Sam Donnellan. Delaware and Saint Joseph's played to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 6.
- Donnellan was named CAA Rookie of the Week on Sept. 19. He currently is tied for the conference lead in goals scored with four and is the only CAA freshman to score two goals in a game this season. He also is currently one of nine freshmen in Division I to score at least four goals this season.Â
- Seidu Shamsudeen has scored a pair of goals for the Blue Hens. Florian Phlepsen (two), Jordan Miller, and Carlos Fernandez each have recorded an assist.
- Adam Vik has recorded 31 saves through the first eight games of the season to lead the CAA, including a career-high six in a shutout of George Washington. Vik also recorded a shutout against Mount St. Mary's in his collegiate debut on August 25.Â
- Delaware has five wins all-time against UNCW. The Seahawks won the last meeting between the two, 4-2, on Sept. 25, 2021. Fernandez and Einar Hardarson both scored a goal and recorded an assist.
- UNCW is 3-1-3Â and 2-0-1 so far on the season. They have not lost since August 28 and have three wins and two draws in their last five games, including a 0-0 tie to North Carolina in their last game.Â
- UNCW was tabbed to finish in fifth place in the preseason CAA poll, while Bachir Ndiaye earned a Preseason All-Conference selection.
- Head coach Aidan Heaney is in his 22nd season with UNCW, and enters the game with a career record of 214-176-45. He has guided the Seahawks to one CAA Tournament championship (2009), four regular season titles (2008, 2009, 2014, and 2019), four NCAA Tournament appearances (2009, 2014, 2017, and 2018) and has been named CAA Coach of the Year five times (2004, 2008, 2009, 2014, and 2019).Â
