Women’s Soccer Drops 2-1 Decision to CofC

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Delaware women's soccer team fell to College of Charleston on Sunday afternoon, 2-1.
College of Charleston scored in the 35th and 69th minutes to take a 2-0 lead over the Blue Hens.
Fifth-year senior forward Sara D'Appolonia, Delaware's leading scorer, connected with the ball for a left-footer that hit the back of the net to trim College of Charleston's lead to 2-1 in the 79th minute.
The Blue Hens continued to battle it out to the final buzzer but were unable to bounce back on the road.
Mia Reed earned the start in the goal making five saves on the day.
College of Charleston held the edge in shots (18-12) and corner kicks (7-2).
Delaware drops to 1-7-3 on the season and 0-2 in conference play. College of Charleston improves to 7-4 overall and 1-1 in league play.
The Blue Hens return home to host Elon on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Towson on Sunday at 1 p.m. Sunday's match is Alumni Day. All alumni can register for the event by clicking here.
