LEWISBURG, Pa. – Delaware men's tennis started the spring season with a 6-1 victory at Bucknell on Saturday.
"That was a fun first match to start the season," Director of Tennis Pablo Montana said. "I'm really impressed with our energy that we brought in the doubles and kudos to Euan and Tobey for winning fast and being the first ones off the court. In singles it was a total team effort as we were able to bring that energy and battle throughout the entire match. We will use this confidence as we prepare for Penn State."
The Blue Hens claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 as the pairings of Alexandre Gluck/Daniel Krulig and Euan Mackenzie/Tobey Lock won 7-5 and 6-1, respectively.
In singles action, the Blue Hens tallied wins in all but No. 2. Gluck and Krulig each won in straight sets, while William Wibmer and Bernardo Teixeira battled back from first set losses. In the top spot, James Wilkinson closed out the win in the third set after splitting the first two.
Delaware has a quick turnaround with a match at Penn State on Sunday.
