Sabev Earns First Place Finish On Day Two of West Virginia Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W. VA. – The Delaware men's swimming & diving team athlete Toni Sabev picked up a first place finish in the 100 breaststroke on day two of the West Virginia Invitational on Friday.
Sabev's time of 53.09 seconds not only won him the event, but earned him an NCAA B cut. Along with Sabev, Matvei Namakonov finished sixth in the event (54.96 seconds).
After the conclusion of day two, the Blue Hens sit in third place with 329 points.
RESULTS
Day three of the West Virginia Invitational kicks off at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow.

RESULTS
- Delaware's 200 medley relay team of Gavin Currie, Toni Sabev, Simeon Sabev and Matvei Namakonov finished fourth (1:28.13). A second team of Kaloyan Levterov, Zach Sherk, DJ Fechtman and Addison Collins finished ninth (1:30.75).
- UD's 800 freestyle team of Dylan Smolders, Miguel Vasquez, Max Moen and Andrew Taylor placed fourth (6:44.87). Addionally, Levterov, Collins, Jacob Replogle and Currie were sixth (6:46.25).
- Currie (48.64 seconds) and Levterov (48.85 seconds) finished fourth and sixth overall in the 100 backstroke.
- Dylan Smolders was sixth in the 400 IM (3:59.14).
- Simeon Sabev was eighth in the 100 fly (49.46 seconds).
Day three of the West Virginia Invitational kicks off at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow.
