Men’s Tennis Claims Program’s First-Ever Win Over Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Delaware men's tennis (4-1) picked up a 7-0 win Saturday afternoon over Navy (7-7) to mark the program's first ever over the Midshipmen in the 15 match history.

"I am incredibly proud of the men today for coming into the Naval Academy and earning all seven points," Assistant Coach Nate Perrone said. "They are a very well coached team. This will give us great confidence for the rest of the season. I'm looking forward to having these guys rest up, get a good week of practice in, and taking on FDU this Friday."

Wins in the first and third slot of doubles claimed the point for the Blue Hens before heading into singles action.

James Wilkinson battled tirelessly in the top singles flight to down his competitor in three sets. Similarly in the third position, Alexandre Gluck overcame a middle set loss and used a long third set to pick up the point. Daniel Krulig, William Wibmer, and Udayan Bhakar all garnered straight set wins.

Delaware returns to match action Friday at Elkton Indoor Tennis as Fairleigh Dickinson travels to Maryland.
