Women's 400 Free Relay Team Puts Up Unforgettable Performance On Final Day Of CAA Swimming & Diving Championships

HAMPTON, Va. - Delaware's women's swimming & diving 400-free relay team of Mira Selling, Anthi Lyra, Natalie Dobrzykowski, and Erin Shema won the gold medal and set an all-time CAA, CAA Championship Meet, and Delaware program record with a time of 3:18.5 during the final day of the CAA Championships on Saturday. The 400-free relay title was the first in program history. Delaware finished in fourth place in the final team rankings, while Selling was named Most Outstanding Swimmer for the second straight year. She is the first CAA athlete to win outright Swimmer of the Meet in two straight years since Ashley Danner of George Mason in 2009-2010.Â
Julia Servas also starred for Delaware on Saturday, winning the Blue Hens' second-ever 1-meter dive conference championship, and their first since 2002. She recorded a score of 295.15.Â
Selling finished in second place in the 100 free at 48.64, an NCAA B-Cut time. She also set the program record in the 100 free during the 400 free relay at 48.61.Â
In the 200 fly, Aislinn Mitchell earned a bronze medal with a time of 2:00.18, while Alexandra Misikova placed 14th (2:05.02).Â
Mania Tasakou set the Delaware program record in the 200 breast with a time of 2:15.30 in the preliminaries and finished in fifth place in the finals. Jenna Leonard placed eighth (2:18.65), Erin Lillis finished in 12th (2:19.16), and Marietta Gately 16th (2:23.30).Â
In the 200 back, Shema (2:00.72) and Cristin Earley (2:03.67) finished in seventh and eighth, while Dobrzykowski finished 12th (2:01.88). Shema set the program record in the 200 back during the preliminaries at 1:59.26.Â
Charlise Oberholzer finished in 14th in the 1650 free with a time of 17:33.74.Â
Delaware finished behind UNCW (803 points), William & Mary (534.5), and Northeastern (527.5). They finished ahead of Towson (460), Drexel (335), Monmouth (177), and Stony Brook (148).Â
