PHILADELPHIA – Delaware men's tennis (23-8, 3-4 CAA) fell Wednesday afternoon at Drexel (7-10, 1-1 CAA), 4-3. The Hens concluded CAA competition until the CAA Championship.
With his singles match appearance, Luis Molina set the UD program record with 110 career singles matches played.
"Tough loss today for the guys," Director of Tennis Pablo Montana said. "We had our chances on a few courts but kudos to Drexel for bringing it today. We will learn from this and get better."
Delaware was out to a quick start after claiming the doubles point. Tobey Lock and Udayan Bhakar clinched the point with a clutch 7-6 (8) decision in a match that went down to the wire.
Singles action is where the Dragons pulled away. Three straight-set victories and a close No. 1 battle was the difference maker for Drexel on a windy day in Philly.
The Blue Hens are set to host Morgan State on Sunday for Senior Day at the DFH Outdoor Courts.
