PHILADELPHIA – Delaware women's tennis (20-3, 6-1 CAA) set the single season wins mark Wednesday afternoon with a 7-0 sweep of CAA rival Drexel (8-11, 2-1 CAA). This is the second-straight season the Hens have garnered new wins standards, having won 19 matches a season ago. The previous season mark was 17 which was accomplished four times in the late 1990s.
"This means a lot," Isabella Montana said. "We have a bunch of new players but we've all really come together as a team this season. We deserve this. Everyone works super hard and cares for each other immensely. This is a great confidence booster heading into Towson on Saturday and into CAAs."
Delaware claimed the doubles point for the 23rd straight time this season, after a clutch 7-5 decision in the second slot from Alina Vasilenko and Maryia Hrynashka.
In singles competition, the Hens won five of six matches in straight sets, with Vasilenko taking a 10-point tiebreaker set in the second position.
Delaware wraps up the regular season on Saturday at the DFH Outdoor Courts when it hosts Towson for Senior Day.
