ELKTON, Md. – Delaware women's tennis (21-3, 7-1 CAA) celebrated Senior Day with a 7-0 sweep of Towson (5-15, 1-9 CAA) at Elkton Indoor Tennis to conclude the regular season. Prior to the match, the program recognized Adel-Byanu Abidullina, Eliza Askarova, Isabella Montana, and Toni Nelson.
"It was a great day today to play," Adel-Byanu Abidullina said. "Everyone performed at a high level, and I am really excited for what we can achieve. We definitely aren't done yet and are looking forward."
The match started with singles competition, which saw five straight-set victories for the Blue & Gold. Towson only had five players available, so the Hens captured all six points with the No. 6 spot winning by default. Doubles action followed with a pair of wins to seal the 7-0 sweep.
Delaware awaits the CAA Championship seeding which will be announced Monday afternoon. Teams seeded one through four all receive a bye and advance to Friday's quarterfinals, which seems the likely case for the Blue Hens.
