RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware men's tennis (16-8) wrapped up the regular season with a convincing 5-2 win at Richmond (13-8) on Wednesday.
"This is the best way I could think of ending our regular season," assistant coach Nate Perrone said. "An absolute battle against a team in Richmond who is undefeated this season at home. They are well coached and have had a great season so far.
"What a huge confidence boost heading into our conference tournament. Winning away matches can be vital and make the season a memorable one. I'd like to congratulate these men on a wonderful season and our seniors on awesome careers. But we are not done yet. We are coming into the CAA tournament ready for anything. Let's do this Hens!"
Delaware used wins in first and third doubles to claim the doubles point for an early lead.
Despite losses in first and second singles, four straight set wins by William Wibmer, Alexandre Gluck, Udayan Bhakar, and Daniel Krulig pushed the Hens past Richmond.
UD awaits the seeding announcement for the CAA Championship on Monday.
