WASHINGTON – Delaware men's tennis (13-7) pulled out a 4-3 victory in the nation's capital on Saturday, taking down Georgetown (10-7).
"That was a great match to win today and what an exciting way to finish," Director of Tennis Pablo Montana said. "Our guys fought hard and stayed cool under pressure. I'm super proud of their toughness throughout the day. We will use this as confidence as we prepare for Drexel on Wednesday."
The Blue Hens jumped out in front with a 1-0 lead after victories in second and third doubles.
Georgetown took the first three single matches to finish for a 3-1 lead. UD responded with a sixth-slot win from Udayan Bhakar in straight sets. Alexandre Gluck rallied after a first set loss in the fifth spot to clinch the match for the Hens.
Delaware returns to match play on Wednesday at local rival Drexel.
