Swimming & Diving Announces the Hiring of Ross Glegg

NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware swimming & diving head coach Pablo Marmolejo announces the hiring of Ross Glegg on Monday.

"I would like to thank Pablo Marmolejo for the opportunity to join the University of Delaware Swimming and Diving Program and the Blue Hen Family and work along likeminded staff," Glegg said. "I am extremely excited to be a working part of a department that is committed to academic and athletic excellence. I cannot wait to help student-athletes become their most successful selves for life, whilst creating amazing memories and experiences."

"We're excited to add Ross Glegg to our coaching staff," head coach Pablo Mamelojeo said. "Ross brings a wealth of knowledge to our program, and a lot of experience on deck. He played a big role in building the Old Dominion program over the last few seasons, and we're excited to see what kind of impact he has at UD.

Glegg comes from Old Dominion University where he was an assistant coach for the past three season.

Glegg helped lead the men's swimming team to a third-place finish at the CCSA Championships which was the highest finish for them since 2019. He also helped lead the women's team to its first CCSA Championship where they placed eighth.

Prior to his time at ODU, Glegg spent three seasons as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, West Virginia. Along with his graduate assistant duties, he also handled director of operations duties for the men's and women's swimming teams.

Glegg also spent time at Miami (Fla.) as a volunteer assistant coach and also was an assistant coach for the aquatics team.

Glegg was a two-time first-team All-Big-12 swimmer at West Virginia and was an NCAA Qualifier in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle, as well as the 4x50 and 4x100 freestyle relays.

He earned his degree from West Virginia in athletic coaching education and earned his master's degree in athletic coaching education sports performance.
