NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware dance team is delighted to share the signing of 10-year-old Anijah Brown through Team IMPACT, head coach Risa Snapp announced Saturday.
Anijah, who lives with osteosarcoma – a form of cancer that starts in the bones – will participate in many activities with the dance team over the next two years, including games, practices, and other team events. To date, Brown has already joined the Blue Hens for an ice cream outing at UDairy and some team practices. She will also be joining the team for its photoshoot next week, as well as performing a routine at a football game this season.
The Blue Hens will hold a signing event open to the media with Anijah and members of the dance program on Monday, August 21 at 3:30 p.m. in the Bob Carpenter Center Club. Those wishing to cover the event, shoud RSVP to Ed LeFurge III.
"We are very excited to have Anijah join our UDDT family," Snapp said. " She has a bright, energetic personality that fits right in with our team. We've all really enjoyed getting to know Anijah so far."
