Tizio Tabbed Senior Associate AD, Compliance

NEWARK, Del. – With over a decade of experience working in athletics compliance, Phil Tizio has been named Senior Associate AD, Compliance, Deputy AD, Sport Administration/SWA Angie Hull announced Monday.
"Having previously worked alongside Phil for seven years, I have witnessed first-hand the level of expertise, education, and relationship building he brings to the compliance space," Deputy AD, Sport Administration and Student Success/SWA Angie Hull said. "I am excited to welcome Phil and his leadership to our compliance crew at Delaware!"
Tizio joins the Hens after spending the last seven years at Kent State University as the Associate AD, Compliance. He was originally hired as an assistant director before being promoted in March of 2022. In his role, Tizio was responsible for leading the compliance department for the Golden Flashes' varsity programs, including taking the lead on football. He also served as a sport administrator for a number of programs, among other responsibilities.
"I would like to thank Director of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreations Chrissi Rawak, Deputy Athletic Director Angie Hull, and the rest of the coaches and staff for the opportunity to join the Blue Hen community," Tizio said. "Angie Hull is an exceptional leader, and I'm excited to work with her again in this role. I look forward to continuing the strong culture of compliance at Delaware to support the student-athletes, coaches, and staff. I would also like to thank Kent State Director of Athletics Randale Richmond and Executive Deputy Athletic Director Greg Glaus for the mentorship and leadership they have imparted on me.
Tizio came to the Golden Flashes from Western Carolina University, where he served as the athletic department's primary compliance contact and coordinated all daily compliance operations for the Catamounts. Prior to that he worked as a compliance coordinator at Ohio State University. Tizio was responsible for assisting in the athletic department's monitoring efforts, agent registration, initial and continuing eligibility and ensuring adherence to NCAA and Big Ten regulations.
In addition, Tizio served as a compliance intern at Youngstown State University where he also completed his MBA. As an undergraduate at Seton Hill University, he competed in football and track and field, while working in the compliance office.
