Field Hockey Falls on the Road at UConn

STORRS, Conn. – The University of Delaware field hockey team fell 3-1 to UConn on the road Sunday afternoon at Nancy Stevens Field.
HENS HIGHLIGHTS
- Rachael Whitehead netted Delaware's first goal of the game just under three minutes into the contest
- Sophomore Kylie Walbert tallied a season-high 15 saves on the day
- The Hens were awarded seven penalty corners in the first half
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Whitehead put UD on top at the 12:17 mark after the Hens were awarded their third penalty corner of the quarter
- In the second, with under five minutes left to play before the break, UConn's Julianna Kratz found the back of the UD cage to knot the game at one apiece
- After a scoreless third quarter, the Huskies broke the 1-1 tie with a goal just 30 seconds into the fourth quarter
- Later in the fourth, the Huskies took a two-goal edge on a penalty stroke goal from Julia Bressler to take a 3-1 lead
UP NEXT
Delaware returns home on Friday, Sept. 29 as the Blue Hens host William & Mary at Rullo Stadium. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
