NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware women's soccer program remains unbeaten at home with a 0-0 tie against Richmond on Sunday at Grant Stadium.

COACHES QUOTE

"We've talked about championships being won on Sunday's and what it takes to be relentless and stifle opponents," head coach Kelly Lawrence said. :Minimizing Richmond to one shot on goal was a great example of the focus that this group had after a week of class and in tough conditions. The team was very happy to keep a clean sheet on Grant.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

The Blue Hens outshot the Spiders 12-4 and had a 7-1 shots-on-goal advantage as well.
Kyla Burns played the full 90 minutes in net. She received the decision and had one save.
Raychel Speicher and Caitlin St. Leger led the way with in shots. Speciher had four shots, and two shots-on-goal while St. Leger had three shots, all three shots were on goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Despite a 0-0 score at the end of the first half, the Blue Hens held a 7-1 shots advantage over the Spiders.
The Blue Hens best chance of the day came in the 82nd minute when Speicher had an opportunity to break the tie, but her shot was saved by the Richmond goalkeeper.

GAME NOTES

Delaware finishes non-conference play with a 3-2-1 record. It boasts a 2-0-1 record at home in that stretch.
Sunday was the fourth all-time meeting between the Spiders and Blue Hens. The Spiders own a 2-1-1 record over Delaware. However, the Blue Hens are 1-0-1 against Richmond in Newark.

Coastal Atlantic Association play begins this Thursday as the Blue Hens travel to Towson, Md. to take on the Towson Tigers on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m.
