NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware Department of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation is excited to welcome Bayhealth as a corporate sponsor, the department announced Thursday. As part of the partnership, five University of Delaware softball student-athletes will be joining Bayhealth's Go Pink at the Rink event.
"It's always exciting to partner with companies that value the same things we do," Director of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation Chrissi Rawak said. "I'm grateful to Bayhealth for believing in our mission and allowing us to collaborate for this great cause!"
Bayhealth's second Go Pink at the Rink is on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the Centre Ice Rink at Delaware State Fair, 18500 S. DuPont Hwy, Harrington, DE 19952. As an extension of the annual Go Pink! campaign, community members are invited to glide by for a fun afternoon of ice skating along with free clinical breast exams, cancer education, and additional Bayhealth Cancer Institute resources. This event is ideal for the whole family and the first 50 skaters will receive complimentary rink admission and skate rental! Attendees are encouraged to wear pink to support the cause. The 2024 Bayhealth Go Pink! shirts can be purchased online at Bayhealth.org/Go-Pink while supplies last.
"We are excited about our partnership with University of Delaware Athletics and combining our efforts with division I athletes to further raise awareness around breast cancer and the importance of getting screened," Bayhealth Vice President of Marketing, Communications, & Community Outreach Amanda Bowie said. "Their attendance at the Go Pink at the Rink event will add additional emphasis on fun and awareness."
Others looking to partner with the Blue Hens can reach out to Kate Rudolph at rudolphk@udel.edu.
