Field Hockey to Play Fairfield in NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – After winning the CAA Championship and earning the league's automatic qualifier, the University of Delaware field hockey team will take on Fairfield in the First Round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament on Wednesday, November 13 in Chapel Hill, N.C. at 2 p.m., the committee announced Sunday night.
A rematch from earlier this season, the Blue Hens downed Fairfield 2-0 on November 3. The Stags won the NEC Championship to earn the league's automatic qualifier.
This will be the Blue Hens 14th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2022. UD is 10-12 all-time in the big tourney, highlighted by winning the 2016 National Championship. Ten of their last 12 appearances have come over the last 12 years as the Blue & Gold have earned the CAA crown.
