HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The University of Delaware men's soccer team closed out their final CAA regular season with a loss against No. 10 Hofstra, 0-3.

Rounding out the season, Delaware's overall record will finish at 7-7-2 and CAA record at 2-6. Hofstra's overall record will stand at 11-4-2 and CAA record at 5-3 as they head into postseason play.

Orri Thorhallsson and Jaydon Fuller both picked up a shot on goal, Mikey Johnson picked up three.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The match had a dynamic start as the Delaware defensive squad sent Hofstra to the corner twice within the first five minutes, the Pride finally penetrated the Delaware front and scored the first goal in the 16th minute.
The Hens edged their way over to the Pride box as Jordan Illian, Sam Donnellan, Thorhallsson, Fuller, and Johnson all put up shots. However, the Pride came back stronger to the Delaware box scoring two more goals before the half.
The second half kicked off strong for Vik as he picked up saves back to back. Eventually the Pride crept through enough to earn their fourth goal in a scramble.
After a valiant defensive effort, the Hens did not allow anymore Pride infiltration.
