Namakonov, Pastris, Furner Receive Weekly CAA Honors

RICHMOND, Va. - Matvei Namakonov, Alex Pastris and John Furner of the Delaware swimming & diving programs earn weekly Coastal Athletic Association athletes of the week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Namakonov, who was named the conference's men's swimmer of the week, earned his first weekly honors of the season. He recorded two individual victories and was part of two relay wins as Delaware topped Towson, 229-71, last Saturday. The junior captured the 50 free in a time of 20.84 and took the top spot in the 100 free with a time of 45.88. He was part of the Blue Hens' 200 medley relay team that set a pool record with a time of 1:29.60 as well as the winning 400 free relay team (3:01.80).
Furner, who was named the men's diver of the week, posted a first-place finish on the 3-meter board with an NCAA Zone cut score of 330.38 in Delaware's team win over Towson. He also placed third in the 1-meter competition with a score of 270.60. It is his first weekly conference honors as a member of the Blue Hens
Pastris, who for the second week in a row is the women's diver of the week, had a a pair of strong performances in Delaware's victory against Towson. She earned first place in the 3-meter competition with a score of 293.70 and was second on the 1-meter board with an NCAA Zone cut score of 270.23. Pastris has qualified for Zones on both boards.
The Blue Hens are set to compete in the Bucknell Invitiaitonal from Nov. 22-24.Â
