PHILADELPHIA – University of Delaware field hockey is headed to its ninth CAA Championship game in the last 10 years after a 3-1 win over No. 3 Northeastern on Friday in the semifinals. The Blue Hens advance to 10-9 on the year with the Huskies dipping to 12-7.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Three different Hens scored a goal: Valentina Martorell, Sarah Rigual, and Noelle Sabbagh.
Rigual added an assist for a career-high three points.
Iris Bekker recorded a pair of assists.
Cecile van Eijck (10-9) made one save.
Cameron Medinger added to her CAA leading defensive saves with her sixth of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Northeastern scored first before the Hens answered on Martorell's equalizer.
The Blue & Gold added one in the third from Rigal and one in the fourth from Sabbagh to seal the victory.

UP NEXT
Third-seeded Delaware will take on fourth-seeded Monmouth in the CAA Championship Sunday at noon from Drexel University.
