ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team fell at Navy on Thursday night. The Midshipmen jump to 8-3, while the Blue Hens sit at 3-7.

HENS HIGHLIGHTS

Ande'a Cherisier scored 11 points for her seventh-consecutive game in double figures, while adding a career-best four steals.
Tara Cousins led the Blue & Gold with 16 points and four assists.
Ella Wanzer (14) and Jiya Perry (10) joined Cherisier and Cousins in double figures, while Perry tallied a career-high eight rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED

After Navy started the game with a 10-0 run, Delaware fought back with a 12-0 run of its own to take a 12-10 lead. The Mids took a 14-12 lead into the second quarter.
At the media timeout in the second quarter, Navy led 24-20 with 5:57 until the end of the half. The Blue Hens held a 34-33 lead with 32 ticks left in the half, but Navy hit a jumper with two seconds to play to take a one-point lead into the locker room after eight lead changes. Delaware outscored the Midshipmen 22-21 in the frame.
With 2:30 remaining in the third, Navy held a 48-46 advantage. A 7-0 run by the Midshipmen over 1:18 allowed their lead to jump up to six. Perry hit a free-throw line jumper to stop the drought. The Hens trailed by four heading into the final quarter.
A Cherisier steal and a Cousins three forced Navy to call a timeout, leaving a four-point game with under seven to play. At the game's final media stoppage, UD trailed 72-64 with 4:57 to play. Both teams ended the game on a scoreless drought, with Navy's lasting 2:18 and UD's lasting 3:17.
