2/11/2024 5:53:00 PM | Men's Tennis
PHILADELPHIA – A late match-clinching win by Javier Ruiz propelled the University of Delaware men's tennis team past Penn Sunday, 4-3. The Blue Hens move to 3-0 on the year, while the Quakers drop to 5-4.
ON THE RECORD
"What an amazing day for us," Head Men's Tennis Coach Marc Pibernat said. "We didn't have the best week preparing for this match, but the team took the bull by the horns and was able to display an excellent performance especially in doubles. This was definitely a TEAM win and we couldn't be prouder of the way we competed and the presence we showed against another big team that we take down. A huge shoutout to our captain Javier Ruiz for winning the doubles point at #1 with Karol and for clinching his singles with a huge win when the overall score was 3-3. We will go back to work hard on Tuesday to prepare for next two matches happening next weekend."
