NEWARK, Del. – Head Coach Ryan Carty and the University of Delaware football team welcomed in five more newcomers to the program on Wednesday as part of National Signing Day. The five additions bring the 2024 signing class total to 21 as the Blue Hens also announced eight newcomers in December and brought in eight transfer student-athletes in January.
Overall, the Blue Hens are bringing in 13 members of the University of Delaware Class of 2028 with seven offensive players, five defensive and one special teams. They include 10 student-athletes who were team captains in high school, four who were ranked three-star recruits by major recruiting outlets and 11 who were multi-sport athletes. The class combined to win three state championships and four other championships during their high school careers.
Of the eight transfers, four are on the defensive side of the ball while three play offense and one on special teams. Seven of the eight are from FBS programs and five come from power-five institutions. Six earned three stars from multiple recruiting outlets when they were coming out of high school.
