WASHINGTON, D.C. – The sixth-seeded University of Delaware men's basketball team finished its season Sunday night in the nation's capital with a 73-58 loss to third-seeded Hofstra. The Blue Hens conclude the year 19-14 overall.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Gerald Drumgoole Jr. recorded a team-best 23 points. He finishes the year six shy of 1,000 career points.
Jyáre Davis added 13 points and four assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Most of the first half was a back-and-forth affair. Delaware held a four-point lead on a few occasions, including up 29-25 with 5:59 remaining. A 10-0 Hofstra run pulled the Pride up 35-29 heading into the locker room for its largest lead of the game to that point. UD was scoreless over the final 5:58 of the opening half.
Hofstra outpaced the Blue & Gold 15-7 over the opening 4:45 of the second stanza to balloon its lead to 50-36. The 14-point deficit held at the under-12 media timeout with the score 59-45. The Hens were able to cut it to 12, but ultimately couldn't surmount a comeback.
