Women’s Tennis Defeats NJIT, 4-0, on Senior Day

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware women's tennis cruised to a 4-0 victory Saturday afternoon over NJIT. The Blue Hens recognized their senior class of Eliza Askarova, Slade Coetzee, Julieta Honrubia, and Alex Staiculescu.
UD moves to 15-6 on the season, while the Highlanders dip to 14-5.
ON THE RECORD
"I'm super proud of our seniors," Coetzee said. "It's always special to get a home win on Senior Day. I'm excited for the momentum we have heading into a big match against William & Mary on Sunday."

- After losing at number three doubles, the Hens rallied to claim the doubles point with wins at one and two.
- Coetzee, Askarova, and Navya Vadlamudi made quick work of their opponents as each won in straight sets.
- Askarova won her fourth-straight singles match.
- Askarova and Staiculescu advance to 18-7 in doubles action this season, including 12-3 at No. 1 doubles.
