Baseball's 2024 Season Concludes with Loss To Charleston in CAA Tournament

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The University of Delaware baseball season comes to an end with a loss against Charleston by a score of 11-1Â on Sunday.Â
With the loss, the Blue Hens finish their 2024 campaign with an overall record of 31-26.
HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Joey Loynd led the way on offense, going 4-for-4 with four singles. Aaron Graeber, Aidan Kane and Brett Lesher also recorded hits.Â

Starting on the mound was Anthony Gubitosi. He pitched 2.1 innings, allowed four runs, five hits, struck out four batters and walked two. He was credited with the loss. In relief was Christian Colmery, Eli Atiya, Nate Rolka, Tyler Strechay and Tyler August.Â

After Charleston got the game going with a two run home run in the second, Kane hit a solo home run to make it 2-1 in the top of the third.Â

Charleston scored eight runs over the next four innings.Â

Just after 5 p.m. the game went into a weather delay and resumed at 11 a.m. the following morning.
