MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The University of Delaware women's soccer team fell in the season opener at West Virginia University by a score of 2-0.
ON THE RECORD
"We put top competition on our non conference schedule for a reason. You find out a lot about yourself when you play some of the best teams in the country," said head coach Kelly Lawrence, "We found out that when we stick to our principles and play the way we know how with bravery and conviction that we we're very effective. We knew we would get exposed at times, but we bent and didn't break in the run of play. We conceded on a free kick and a PK and those are details that we will continue to work through. But, we head home to the 302 extremely proud and ready to take what we've learned and keep building!"
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
The Blue Hens will travel to Bucknell on Sunday, Aug. 18 for a 1 p.m. match.
