Men's Tennis Secures Victory at Home in the Blue Hen Invite

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's tennis team successfully defended its home turf at the Blue Hen Invite this past weekend. The Hens won all three of their competitions against Georgetown, NJIT, and Temple.

ON THE RECORD – "The weekend couldn't have gone better for us. We are so excited that we won the Blue Hen Invitational," head coach Marc Pibernat said. "We had 4 top teams competing against each other, so we had to play very good tennis to beat Georgetown on Friday, NJIT on Saturday and especially Temple today, which was a match that we had to dig deep to go win. We are very proud of the overall performance of the team through the weekend and now our focus will be to work hard and get better for ITA Regionals. A special mention to our freshman Itamar Tapiro for winning his first match as a Blue Hen!"

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Alexandre Gluck, Piotr Siekanowicz, Tobey Lock, Ram Mude, and Tapiro all posted straight sets in their singles matches against Georgetown.
All six singles matches played against NJIT resulted in a Blue Hen win.
Euan Mackenzie & Lock took home the Hens only doubles win against Temple.
Aristotelis Bezianis, Siekanowicz, Gluck, & Lock all won all three of their singles matches played during the weekend.
Lock & Mackenzie won all three doubles matches they were a part of.
