Women's Soccer Scores Season High in Senior Day Victory

NEWARK, Del. – With contributions from four different players, the University of Delaware women's soccer program sets a season high for goals scored in its 4-0 victory over George Mason on Sunday at Grant Stadium.
With the win, the Blue Hens record improves to 2-4-2.
Prior to the start of Sunday's contest, UD celebrated senior day and honored 11 student athletes: Kelly Chittenden, Mia Reed, Carly Binn, Morgan Tilley, Laura Fluegge, Caitlin St. Leger, Paige Kenton, Sydni Wright, Sydney Adkins, Amy Swain and Kyla Burns.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- UD's goal scorers were Brooke Vogel, Olivia Bley, Maggie Groh and Willa Pratt. For Vogel and Bley, it was their first career goal. Groh scored her first goal of the season, and Pratt's goal was the second on the season.
- Kyla Burns and Mia Reed split time in net and earned a shutout. Reed had one save on the day.
- The Blue Hens outshot the Patriots 18-2 on the day and had a 6-3 advantage on corner kicks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vogel scored in the seventh minute of the game with an assist from St. Leger. She received a pass from St. Leger in the goalkeeper box, made a nice move and scored.
- Bley's goal was scored in the 40th minute with an assist from Binn. She received a pass from Binn from about 30 yards out into the box and scored.
- Groh scored in the 75th minute. After multiple shots from UD players were saved, Groh found the ball with an open net and scored.
- Pratt's goal was scored in the 89th minute with an assist from Taysia Reid. Reid ran down the side of the field, beating out Patriot defenders, to find Pratt in the box to score the Hens fourth and final goal of the game.
GAME NOTES
- UD owns a 9-7-1 series lead over the Patriots with today's win.
- This is the third time under Lawrence that the Blue Hens scored four or more goals on the season. The last two times were against Saint Francis (Pa.) on Aug. 31 and against Hampton on Oct. 19. The Blue Hens are 3-0 under Lawrence when scoring four or more goals.
- The Blue Hens are 2-0-1 in the month of September.
