NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team lost to N.C. A&T on Friday night, 65-49 at the Bob Carpenter Center. The Blue Hens drop to 3-10, while the Aggies improve to 7-7.

HENS HIGHLIGHTS

UD held N.C. A&T without a make from beyond the arc in the first half as the Aggies went 0-for-9.
Tara Cousins and Ande'a Cherisier each scored in double figures with 15 and 13 points, respectively.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Tara Cousins got the scoring started in the first minute of the contest with an elbow jumper to give UD the first lead of the game. At the initial media timeout, N.C. A&T led 7-4 with 4:27 to go in the first quarter. Delaware ended the quarter on an 8-0 run over 1:49 to draw even at 13 heading into the second.
It was a 20-19 lead for Delaware at the second quarter media timeout with five minutes to go until halftime. A 7-0 Aggie run over the final 3:12 gave the visiting team a 28-25 edge at the break.
The Hens trailed by four at the third quarter media stoppage with 4:40 to play in the frame. Both teams endured droughts of over two minutes without a field goal with Delaware's lasting nearly four minutes before a make from Cousins. The teams caught fire after their respective dry spells, each going 3-for-3 from the floor to end the frame to leave a 50-44 Aggie lead after three.
N.C. A&T broke it open in the opening minutes of the fourth, using a 6-0 run over the first 2:26 to jump out to a 12-point lead.

GAME NOTES

It was the first home loss to N.C. A&T in program history in just their fourth head-to-head matchup.
