Men's Swimming & Diving's Namakonov Earns ASUN Men's Swimmer of the Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - University of Delaware men's swimming & diving's Matvei Namakonov has been named the ASUN Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Namakonov received his first weekly award since the Fightin' Blue Hens joined the ASUN in July.

The senior won all four events he competed in during Delaware's meet against West Virginia on Saturday, October 18.

He is currently ranked seventh in the country in the 100-breast at 52.35, earning an NCAA Cut, and set pool records in both the 100-free (43.67) and the aforementioned 100-breast.

Namakonov was part of two relay squads that set pool records in the 200-medley relay at 1:27.00 and the 400-free relay at 2:57.46.

UP NEXT
The Blue Hens travel up to Philadelphia, Pa. on November 1, to take on the University of Pennsylvania.
