Second Half Surge Leads Women's Soccer to 2-0 Win Over Jax State

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's soccer program earns its first Conference USA home win at Grant Stadium by a score of 2-0 on Thursday.
With the win, the Fightin' Blue Hens overall record is 9-1-4 and is 2-1-2 with eight point in conference play.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Gabby Riley and Brooke Vogel were the goal scorers for UD in Thursday's win. Sophia Zeppos was credited with the assist on Vogel's goal.
- Vogel, Maggie Groh and Adiat Olaogun-Dickson led the Blue Hens in shots with two.
- Sophia Hall, Riley and Calista Collins played in all 90 minutes.
- After a scoreless first half, Riley got the game's first goal off a corner kick. Her kick curved past all the Blue Hens and Gamecocks in the box and found the low back corner of the net.
- Zeppos had a nice pas to Vogel, she made a move to a Gamecocks defender and had a wide-open opportunity at the net. She found the low left corner.
- Riley scored her second goal of the season, while Vogel scored her fourth goal of the season.
- Zeppos picked up her second career assist in today's game.
- Hall has started and played in all 90 minutes in each of the Blue Hens first 14 games. She earned her sixth shutout of the season, which is tied for sixth most in program history.
- Thursday was head coach Kelly Lawrence's 20th win of her coaching career. All 20 wins came at UD.
