Gruber Finished Second Overall, Cross Country Finished Fourth at CUSA Championships

Huntsville, Ala. -Â Marie-Theres Gruber of the University of Delaware cross country team finished second, and earned first team all-conference honors at the Conference USA Championships on Saturday, November 1.
Gruber's time of 20:21.94 is her second best of the season. Her placement is the best for the Fightin' Blue Hens cross country program since 1996 at a conference championship.Â
The Blue Hens finished fourth overall as a team. They improved their team placement after finishing seventh at the Coastal Athletic Association Championships last season, and is the best finish since the fall of 2021 (third place).
RESULTS
Leah Clear finished behind Gruber at 21:08.33, who finished in 23rd. Erin McGoey (21:18.58) and Kadence Dumas (21:21.36) finished in 28th and 29th. Rounding out the top five was Nina Sgambelluri in 50th place at 22:04.88.
Other Blue Hens who finished were Rachel Starr (22:07.42), Lauren Thomas (22:17.36), Tiffany Herrera (22:37.08), Gabrielle Thiry (22:51.42) and Delana Einreinhofer (22:51.42).
