NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's basketball team fell in its Conference USA opener against Missouri State, 61-43. The Fightin' Blue Hens dip to 4-8, 0-1 CUSA, while the Bears advance to 7-5, 1-0 CUSA.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Macon Emory finished as the Hens' leading scorer (12) and rebounder (11) for his fourth double-double of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

After the visitors converted an and-one opportunity to begin the game, UD responded with an Emory triple to knot things ahead of a 5-3 Missouri State lead at the first media stoppage at 15:12. MoState upped the margin to 10-5 by the second break at 11:31. Delaware pulled within a possession at 13-10, however the Bears finished the half on a 14-7 run for a 27-17 lead.
MSU held a 20-9 advantage through the opening nine minutes of the second frame to widen the deficit to 47-26. The visitors held on to claim the win after going up by as many as 24.
