Cherisier Puts Up Career-High 24 Points as Women’s Basketball Dominates William & Mary to Win Fifth-Straight Game

NEWARK, Del. – Ande'a Cherisier put up a career-high 24 points as the University of Delaware women's basketball team dominated the William & Mary Tribe, 82-59, on Sunday afternoon at the Bob Carpenter Center. The Blue Hens have now won five-straight games, improving to 9-14 (6-7 CAA), while the Tribe falls to 10-13 (7-5 CAA).

HENS HIGHLIGHTS
- Cherisier scored 24 points on 9-of-11 from the floor to go with four rebounds and four assists. She scored 20 or more points in both games this weekend.
- Ella Wanzer tallied 17 points on a 5-for-6 afternoon from beyond the arc.
- Tara Cousins (12), Rebecca Demeke (10), and Chloe Wilson (10) joined Cherisier and Wanzer in double figures.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hens came out swinging, scoring eight of the game's first 10 points, including a 6-0 run over 1:35. UD continued to score in the frame, leading 23-14 after the first.
- At the second quarter media timeout, the Hens led 29-16, taking a 6-0 run over 2:20 into the stoppage.
- Delaware was up 47-31 as the visitors called timeout with 7:34 to go in the third. In what ended up being a back-and-forth frame, the Blue & Gold took a 59-47 lead into the final quarter.
- The Blue Hens' lead reached as high as 23 points in the fourth quarter, which held up as the final margin.
GAME NOTES
- Cherisier recorded her fourth-straight game in double figures, while Cousins and Wilson tallied their fifth-straight.
- Lia Samuels made her Delaware debut, as the walk-on transfer from Widener made her only three-point attempt.
- The Blue & Gold improve to 8-2 when they have at least four double-digit scorers.
- The win extends the longest winning-streak since Sarah Jenkins took over the program to five games.
