Women’s Basketball’s Six-Game Winning-Streak Ends at N.C. A&T

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team's six-game winning-streak comes to an end at N.C. A&T as the Blue Hens fell 71-55. The Hens drop to 10-15 (7-8 CAA), while the Aggies improve to 16-9 (12-2 CAA).

HENS HIGHLIGHTS
- Delaware shot 60-percent from the floor in the opening quarter
- Chloe Wilson neared a double-double, tallying 10 points and nine rebounds on the afternoon.
- Ella Wanzer scored 12 points, including three makes from beyond the arc.
- Rebecca Demeke posted 11 points, while Ande'a Cherisier scored 10 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- At the game's initial media timeout, the Hens trailed 12-11 with 4:42 to play in the first quarter. UD took a 20-18 advantage into the second quarter.
- Sarah Jenkins called timeout with 6:32 until the end of the first half as the game sat even at 23. The Aggies led 35-29 at the break.
- With 4:16 left in the third quarter, N.C. A&T held a six-point lead, holding the Hens to no field goals in the previous 2:32. A 9-0 run for the Aggies widened the margin to 13 with 59 ticks to go in the frame.
- N.C. A&T called timeout up by six with 6:42 to go in regulation, never allowing UD back into the game.
GAME NOTES
- Wilson tallied her seventh-straight game in double figures.
- Demeke posted her fourth-straight game with 10 or more points, while Wanzer recorded her third such contest.
- The Blue & Gold fall to 9-3 when they have at least four double-digit scorers.
- The loss ends the longest winning-streak since Sarah Jenkins took over the program at six games.
