Cherisier Records Double-Double as Women’s Basketball Silences Stony Brook, 71-62

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Ande'a Cherisier recorded her second double-double of the season as the University of Delaware women's basketball team silenced the Stony Brook Seawolves, 71-62 on Friday night. The Blue Hens jump up to 11-15 (8-8 CAA), while the Seawolves drop to 11-15 (6-9 CAA).

HENS HIGHLIGHTS

Delaware shot 100-percent from beyond the arc in the first quarter and 50-percent in the first half. For the game, the Hens were successful on 55-percent of their threes.
Cherisier tallied 17 points and a career-high 12 rebounds for the second double-double of her career.
Rebecca Demeke put up 16 points on a 5-of-8 night from beyond the arc.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Hens led 21-18 after the first quarter behind seven different Hens who scored in the frame.
At the second quarter media timeout, Delaware led 25-21 with 4:53 remaining in the first half. The teams went back to the locker room at the break tied at 30.
With 5:42 to go in the third quarter, the Blue & Gold held a 40-34 advantage. The Hens led 56-43 after three.
The lead reached as high as 14 in the fourth quarter for Delaware to take the contest.

GAME NOTES

Demeke posted her fifth-straight game with 10 or more points, while Cherisier recorded her second such contest.

Delaware will return home to host Drexel on Thursday, March 6. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and the game will air on FloHoops.
