Offensive Surge Leads Baseball to 15-10 Win Over Stony Brook

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware baseball team defeated Coastal Athletic Association foe Stony Brook by a score of 15-10 on Saturday at Bob Hannah Stadium.

With the win, the Blue Hens overall record improves to 12-9 and are 2-0 in CAA play.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Aaron Graeber led the offense, going 5-for-5 on the day with a home run and two RBI's.
Four other Blue Hens had multiple hits: Andrew Amato (3-for-5, 1B, 2 RBIs), Evan Bouldin (2-for-3, HR, 2 RBIs), Aiden Stewart (2-for-5, 2 HR, 6 RBI's) and Brett Lesher (2-for-5, HR, 3 RBIs)
Starting on the mound was Ben Moyzan. He pitched in three innings, allowed four earned runs off six hits and struck out two batters. In relief was Justin Needles, Ethan Shaub and Andrew Callaway
Needles was credited with the win; he is now 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Both the Blue Hens and Seawolves scored through the first four innings of the game.
Bouldin, Graeber and Stewart all hit home runs, Amato drove in two runs off two singles and Lesher brought in two runs off a single through the first four innings. They led 8-5 after the stretch.
UD scored six runs in the seventh inning. The rally started with a Graeber RBI single, followed by a Stewart grand slam and a Lesher solo home run on back-to-back plays to make it 15-7.
The Seawolves had a three run eighth inning, but Callaway shut down the rally and recorded the final four outs on the mound.
