Baseball Advances to Liberty Bell Classic Semifinals With Win Over Lafayette

With the win, the Blue Hens overall record improves to 13-10 and they will play Saint Joseph's in the LBC semifinals next Tuesday, April 1 at 3 p.m.
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- LT Cockrill and Aiden Stewart both had three hit games to lead the Blue Hens offensively. Cockrill went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and three RBIs. Stewart went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and had four RBIs.
- Andrew Amato (2-for-6, 2B, RBI) and Jackson Tyer (2-for-5, HR, 2 RBI) had multiple hits.
- Ryan McLaughlin started the game, and pitched two innings. In relief was Jonah Richardson, Carter Welch, Dylan Bryan and Jake Pollaro.
- Bryan was credited with the win after pitching 2.1 innings, and striking out four batters. Pollaro was credited with the save. He pitched the final 1.2 innings, allowed just one hit and struck out two batters
- Lafayette had a 7-2 lead headed into the fifth inning.
- In the fifth, the Blue Hens chipped away at the lead with a solo home run from Stewart and a two-run home run from Cockrill.
- The Blue Hens took the lead in the seventh, starting with Cockrill and Rory Finn RBI singles, allowed by a two-run home run by Tyer.
- UD added insurance runs in the eighth with a Cockrill RBI double in the eighth and a 3-RBI double by Stewart.
Coastal Athletic Association play continues as the Blue Hens travel to Elon for a three game series.
