NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team lost to Towson in the regular season finale, 69-59 on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Hens fall to 12-16 (9-9 CAA), while the Tigers jump up to 10-19 (8-10 CAA).

HENS HIGHLIGHTS

Delaware shot 40-percent from beyond the arc in the first half.
Rebecca Demeke tallied 15 points to lead the Hens.
Ande'a Cherisier posted 11 points to go with five rebounds.
Chloe Wilson grabbed 12 rebounds in 31 minutes played.

HOW IT HAPPENED

At the game's initial media stoppage, Delaware led 10-3 just 2:22 into the contest after a Towson timeout. The Hens held an 18-12 lead after the first quarter.
The Blue & Gold led 26-18 with 4:24 to go in the half at the second quarter media timeout. Demeke beat the halftime-buzzer to give the Hens a 31-22 lead heading into the locker room.
With 3:11 left in the third quarter, the Blue Hens led by 10. The Tigers cut the deficit to three heading into the fourth, as the Hens led 45-42.
A hot start to the fourth quarter for Towson led to a four-point lead for the visiting team midway through the final frame. The Hens never recovered as Towson took the contest.

GAME NOTES

Demeke posted her seventh-straight game with 10 or more points, while Cherisier recorded her fourth such contest.

Delaware will travel to Washington D.C. for the 2025 Credit Union 1 CAA Women's Basketball Championship. The Blue Hens will be the #7 Seed taking on the #10 Seed UNCW Seahawks on Thursday, March 13 at 6 p.m. The game will air on FloCollege.
