Baseball Opens Weekend Series With Win Over Hofstra

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware baseball team defeated Hofstra in a Coastal Athletic Association game by a score of 11-3 on Friday at Bob Hannah Stadium.
With the win, the Blue Hens overall record improves to 23-17 overall and 9-7 in CAA play. The Blue Hens have won four straight games

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Aaron Graeber (3-for-6, HR, 4 RBI, 2 2B), Aiden Stewart (3-for-3, 3B, 2 BB, 2B), and Evan Bouldin (2-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) had multiple hits.
- Ethan Shaub started on the mound, with Justin Needles and Dom Velazquez in relief. Needles was credited with the win, and he is now 4-0 on the season. Velazquez picked up his third save of the season. The three pitched nine innings, allowed three runs (two earned), and struck out 11 batters.
- After the Pride took a 3-1 lead in the top of the third, Bouldin responded with a two-run home run to tie the game at 3-3.
- In the fourth, Graeber hit a solo home run to give the Blue Hens the lead.
- Brett Lesher and Tanner Donati added insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh to make it 6-3. Lesher drove in Andrew Amato off a single, Donati drove in Jackson Tyer off a sacrifice fly.
- In the eighth, Graeber broke the game open with a bases loaded double.
