NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware men's basketball has inked transfer Lance Piper who will join the program beginning in 2025-26, head coach Martin Ingelsby announced Tuesday.
"We are excited to add an elite shooter and skilled guard to our program in Lance Piper," Ingelsby said. "He has great size for his position and fits the type of perimeter players that have flourished in our system. We look forward to welcoming him to campus this summer."
The Holtsville, New York native spent the previous season at the University of South Carolina, where he didn't see any collegiate action. He played his high school ball at Sachem East in Farmingville, New York before finishing his prep career at The Phelps School in Malvern, Pennsylvania. He also played AAU for the New Heights Lightning.
In high school, Piper averaged 16.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game en route to being named an All-Conference player. His father, Leon Piper, played professionally overseas after college stints at Delaware State and Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
