"With our Delaware football game being played on Friday, October 3, we wanted to be a great partner and create an opportunity for our community," Interim Director of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation Jordan Skolnick said. "Hosting this game will be part of a great weekend in the 302. Our hope is that all student-athletes, coaches, and fans can have a great experience!"
Fans will be able to enjoy the game similarly to the way they would a Blue Hens game with free parking and concessions available on site.
"Our coaches and athletes are going to be incredibly excited and honored to have the opportunity to play at the University of Delaware," Smyrna High School Athletic Director Bill Schultz said. "Competing in such a first-class facility as Delaware Stadium is a special experience for our athletes, coaches and their families. Our entire community will be excited to take part in this event and our band and cheerleaders can't wait. This is something that will create memories for a lifetime for all that get the opportunity to be involved."
"Salesianum is honored and thrilled for our student-athletes to have the opportunity to compete at the University of Delaware Stadium," Salesianum School Athletic Director, Assistant Principal Katie Orga Godfrey said. "Playing in a venue of this caliber is a special experience, and facing a strong opponent in Smyrna makes it even more meaningful. It's a great moment for both of our programs and school communities."
