Women's Soccer Opens 2025 Campaign With 5-2 Win Over Mount St. Mary's

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's soccer team kicked off its 2025 campaign with a 5-2 win over Mount St. Mary's on Thursday, August 14 at Grant Stadium.
The five goals is the second most goals scored under women's soccer Head Coach Kelly Lawrence. The Fightin' Blue Hens scored nine goals back in 2023 against Hampton.
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Leading the way was Maggie Groh. She had two goals, and added one assist.
- Adiat Olaogun-Dickson, Taisya Reid and Olivia Bley added goals as well. For Olagun-Dickson, it was her first collegiate goal,
- Gabby Riley, Brooke Vogel, Ryan Mundy, Cassandra Saldarini had assists. For Mundy, it was her first career assist.
- Sophia Hall made her first collegiate start in net on Thursday and collected three saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Groh got the Blue Hens going with the game's first goal in the eighth minute. After Mount St. Mary's tied it, Olagun-Dickson received a through ball from Riley to put the Blue Hens back on top with less than three minutes in the half.
- Groh, Bley, and Reid added goals over the games last 15 minutes to secure the Blue Hens lead.
UP NEXT
The Blue Hens will be back in action on Sunday, August 17 against Bucknell.
